There are a number of ways you can use them successfully to change something (or lots of things!) in your life.

For first-time affirmers, we suggest starting with some mild meditation to relax and let the affirmations really sink in to that part of your mind that needs help the most. Start by reading through the affirmations in this booklet and as you read, some of them will ring true. I don’t know how but I know it works, so trust me and just read through. If you’re only interested in making more money, just read the ones on Abundance. If all you want to do is lose weight effortlessly, just read the Weight Loss ones.

Go to a place you won’t be disturbed and find a comfortable position either sitting down or lying down if you won't easily fall asleep.

Close your eyes and tell yourself to relax. Start thinking about all parts of your body.

• Relax your feet,
• Relax your ankles,
• Relax your calves,
• Relax your knees,
• Relax your thighs,
• Relax your abdomen,
• Relax your chest,
• Relax your shoulders,
• Relax your arms,
• Relax your hands,
• Relax your neck,
• Relax your face,
• Relax your scalp

Then finally tell your mind to relax. This should all take about 5 minutes.

As you tell each part of your body to relax you will feel that part release its tension. You are now completely relaxed. If you wish to go deeper, simply count back from 10 to 1 or 25 to 1 and as you recite to yourself each lower number you will go deeper into relaxation.

Once you are as relaxed as you can be, create a mental image of whatever you have chosen for your affirmations. Let's say one your affirmations is "I look great in my clothes." As you recite this affirmation with meaning, picture yourself in your mind looking terrific in a new outfit. You're neat, trim and very attractive.

• See yourself choosing new outfits.
• Feel yourself enjoying the process with no inhibitions.
• Revel in the sense of satisfaction as you go about your day looking terrific.
• Enjoy the feeling of knowing you look your best.

Yes, I know this is all in your imagination. But it won't stay there! I know that once your mind is convinced of something, your body will follow. You will be making changes in many areas of your life which will slowly bring your life around. If you continue to use affirmations daily, your thinking will change and you will begin to see changes in your life.

This is not a magic wand. You are not a fairy or wizard.

You still have to apply yourself to your work, but you will find the going easier. You should start to see an increase in your creativity as you release negative ideas about yourself and your abilities. You will feel more positive and happier about everything you do.

I call this method immersion because you use these affirmations all day long. Decide which affirmations you wish to use and write them out on small cards. Make several copies and place the cards where you know you’re going to see them. We suggest one for your pocket or handbag, put one on the bathroom mirror, one on the fridge, one on the dashboard of your car and one discreetly on your desk.

Starting in the morning when you wake up, say these affirmations 3 or 4 times each aloud as well as to yourself every time you have an opportunity. It doesn’t matter if you feel silly or awkward and it doesn’t matter if you’re not sure it will work – you have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so go for it. I promise that it will make a difference if you are sincere in wanting whatever it is you are affirming. Make a goal of saying your affirmations at least 100 times a day. Do it for 30 days and you will be amazed at the good fortune that comes your way.

For instance, if you are using affirmations about losing weight but you are holding on to a need to have that weight, it might not work for you. If that’s the case, work on releasing the need for the weight in the first place.
